Gruha Jyothi Application: Karnataka State government now has stared the Gruha Jyothi scheme services on the Seva Sindhu official Portal. Interested and eligible citizens can apply for the Gruha Jyothi scheme directly from the Seva Sindhu portal online.
By the Gruha Jyothi scheme, Karnataka state government will give 200 unit/ month electricity free for all the eligible households. That mean if your electricity consumption is less then 200 (units/month) or 200(units/month) then you don’t need to pay your electricity bill.

- The state govt of Karnataka is giving 200 units/ month free electricity to the eligible household. Households, whose electricity average consumption is less than or equal to 200units/ month, they can get the benefit from this scheme. This scheme helps the poor households in Karnataka by making their electricity bill zero.
- Tenants or person who lives in rented property can also apply for this scheme.
Eligibility Criteria for Gruha Jyothi scheme
- Applicant needs to be resident of Karnataka state.
- You need Aadhaar Card, an identity card issued by the Government of India.
- Interested households monthly electricity consumption should be equal to or less than 200 units in the previous 12 months to be eligible for benefits under the Gruha Jyothi Scheme.
- Only residential or domestic household electricity meter connections are eligible to get Gruha Jyothi Scheme benefits.
- Tenants or persons residing in rented houses can also apply using their own Aadhaar card, even if the electricity meter is registered in the house owner’s name.
- Both APL & BPL ration card holders are eligible to receive up to 200 units of free electricity under the Gruha Jyothi Scheme.

How to apply for Gruha Jyothi Scheme?
Interested and eligible persons can apply for the Gruha Jyothi scheme by following the below steps
- STEP 1: First, you have to visit the official Seva Sindhu Portal.
- STEP 2: On the homepage, the you need to click on the option Gruha Jyothi scheme.
- Once done, online registration form will appear on your screen.
- STEP 3: Now select language (of your choice) on the page. After that fill the application form.
- STEP 4: Select your ESCOM name from the drop-down list and enter the account or consumer ID, which is available at the top portion of your electricity bill. The account holder’s name and address will be automatically fetched from the respective ESCOM database.
- STEP 5: Enter all the other details that are asked on the application form correctly. The applicants must enter their “Type of occupancy, Aadhaar Number, and Applicant Name as in Aadhaar.
- Step 6: Upload the required documents(if any).
- STEP 7: After that don’t forget to check declaration button. Enter & verify the captcha code and click on the “submit” button to complete your process.
- By doing so you can apply for the Gruha Jyoti Scheme.
