What is WB e-Ration Card (e-RC)?

e-Ration card is a pdf file issued by the Department of Food and Supplies of the West Bengal government to its permanent resident for purchasing subsidized food grains like Rice, Wheat, etc. from the nearby fair-price shops. As per government orders, e-RC shall be taken as valid as like physical ration card, and besides a physical Ration card, e-RC also shall be used to take food grains from the fair-price shops at the time of public distribution.

Features of the West Bengal e-Ration Card

• e-RC shall have the same rights and privileges as Digital Ration Card.
• All concerned authorities shall accept the e-RC at par with DRC.
• e-RC can be verified online anytime by anyone through the embedded QR code, as well as from the official website of the Department by entering the e-Ration Card number.
• e-Ration Card holder can download a copy of his e-Ration Card from the website at any time, at any place, and at any number of times.
• The beneficiaries will be able to visit the Ration Shop to avail the food grains from the next working day of approval.
• The e-Ration Card holder will not be required to carry his Digital Ration Card in physical / paper format to receive foodgrains in a Ration Shop. Applicants must full fill any one of the following criteria to get a WB Ration Card

Criteria for Urban Areas of West Bengal

• Is a household without shelter.
• Is destitute / on alms.
• Is manual scavengers.
• Is under the Primitive Tribal Group.
• Is a legally released bonded labourer.
• Is a household with only one room with a kucha walls and kucha roof
• Is a household with no adult member between age of 16 to 59
• Is a Female headed household with no adult male member between age of 16 to 59
• Is a household with _____(number to be given) disabled member(s) and no able-bodied adult member belong to SC/ST households.
• Is a household with no literate adult above 25 years
• Is a landless household deriving the major part of their income from manual casual labour

Criteria for Rural Areas of West Bengal

• Live in a house with wall and roof made of grass/straw/ bamboo/ wood/ mud
• Live in a house with roofs covered with Tali/GI/ Tin/Asbestos and having an earthen wall or wall made of un-burnt brick or wood/stone
• Have no source of drinking water near the house
• Do not have any electric connection
• Have no concrete latrine
• Do not have any male member within the age group between 16-59 years and the head of the family is a female
• Belong to the SC category
• Belong to the ST category
• Have no literate adult member

• Aadhaar Number of the applicants.
• Address proof (No require if the address is the same as in Aadhaar): Passport / Recent Electricity Bill / Driving License / Income Tax Assessment Order / Recent Landline Phone Bill / Post Paid Mobile Bill.

How to Apply online for a new West Bengal subsidized/non-subsidized Ration card?

If you are a fresh applicant for a Digital Ration Card and do not have any previous DRC (Digital Aadhar Card) then follow the simple steps given below to apply online.

• Go to the official website of the Department of Food & Supplies food.wb.gov.in.

• Then, you will see the home screen of the Department of Food & Supplies next, click on the “RATION CARD” Button.
• Next, you will get a new page with multiple links you need to click on the “Apply for new Ration card for a family” button.
• On the next page, you need to do verification through OTP using your mobile number.
• After Verification, you will be redirected to a new page with the application form, this form will be completed in four sections each section requires information.

• In the first section, you need to tick which type of Ration card you need Subsidized or non-subsidized (for ID proof only).
• Next, you need to fill all the sections Carefully and save them.
• Then at last save and preview all your details, go through all the details and then click “submit”.
• Next, Download the application form by the “download” button for future use.
• On approval of the application, you receive an SMS intimating approval of an e-Ration Card in the same mobile number. The SMS also contains a link to download the e-Ration Card as a pdf file.

How to Apply offline for a new West Bengal subsidized/non-subsidized DigitalRation card?

• The applicant may submit an offline application by filling Common Application Form in the office of the Food Inspector in block offices or in the Offices of SCFS in the case of municipalities in SR areas and in the office of SCF&S in the case of municipalities in the district.
• Application is approved as per due process.
• On approval of his application, the applicant receives an SMS intimating approval of Form-11of relevant Form and intimating approval of e-Ration Card in the same mobile number. The SMS also contains a link to download the e-Ration Card as a pdf file.  
• Applicants can download the e-RC of all family members in PDF format.

How to download WB e-Ration Card 2022 online

• Go to the official website of the Department of Food & Supplies food.wb.gov.in.

• Then, you will see the home screen of the Department of Food & Supplies next, click on the “RATION CARD” Button.
• Next, you will get a new page with multiple links you need to click on the “Download your e-Ration Card” button.
• Next, you will get a new page, you need to enter your ration card number, chose your ration card category, and then click “download”.

• You will get a pdf file, you can print this on white paper or directly show it on mobile to the fair price shops for subsidized food grains.

Procedure to link Aadhar & Mobile number with your Ration Card of WB

If you have a West Bengal state Ration card and it is not linked to the Aadhar and Mobile Number then follow the simple steps given below to link your Ration Card.

• Go to the official website of the Department of Food & Supplies of West Bengal.
• Next, you will see the home page of the Department of Food & Supplies then, click “RATION CARD”.
• Next, you will get various services links then scroll down and click on the “Link Aadhar & Mobile number with Ration Card” button.
•  Next, you will get a new webpage that required a mobile number for login

• If you know your mobile number which you gave in your Ration card then,

1. Chose your Ration card category and enter your mobile number then, click “Get OPT”.
2. Next, you will get an OTP on your mobile number you need to enter the OTP and then click “Search”. You will see your Ration Card Details on the next page with two check boxes one is for link Aadhar & mobile number and the second update mobile number.
3. Next, you need to tick the check box for link Aadhar &mobile number after that, you need to enter your Aadhar number and then click “Get OTP” an OTP will be sent to your Aadhar linked mobile number then, you need to enter that OTP and then click on “submit”. You will get a success message of Aadhar and Mobile number linked.

• If you do not know the mobile number then click on “I don’t know which Mobile number I have in my Ration Card” given at the bottom of GET OTP.

1. You will get a new page next, chose your ration card category, enter your Ration card number and then click “Search”
2. Next, you will see your Ration Card Details on the next page with two check boxes one is for link Aadhar & mobile number, and the second update mobile number.
3. Next, you need to tick the check box for link Aadhar &mobile number after that, you need to enter your Aadhar number and then click “Get OTP” an OTP will be sent to your Aadhar linked mobile number then, you need to enter that OTP and then click on “submit”. You will get a success message of Aadhar and Mobile number linked.

Procedure to shift Ration Shop & Kerosene oil shop in West Bengal

If you have a West Bengal state Ration card and you want to shift your Ration shop and Kerosene oil shop then follow the simple steps given below to link your Ration Card.

• Go to the official website of the Department of Food & Supplies of West Bengal.
• Next, you will see the home page of the Department of Food & Supplies then, click “RATION CARD”.
• Next, you will get various services links then scroll down and click on the “Apply for shifting to another Ration shop of Entire Family ” button.
•  Next, you will get a new webpage that required a mobile number for login or you can also make login through the ration card number by clicking “I don’t know which Mobile number I have in my Ration Card”.

• After login, you will get the applicant Dashboard then, click on the “Apply For FORM-6“.

• Next, you will get a new Page, fill in the required details, upload Aadhaar (size< 100kb), fill in your address, choose either your primary or secondary mobile number, tick against the “I AGREE” declaration, and then click “Next” button.
• Next, you will get a new FORM with your family details filled already you need to fill in the Address details and then, choose the new Ration shop where you want to shift after that, click “Next”.
• Next, you will get a new page to upload an address-proof document (up to 100kb), after uploading tick against the “I Agree” declaration and then click the “Proceed” button.
• Next, you will get a new page with a declaration, tick against the declaration, and click “GET OTP” next, you will get an OTP on the mobile number you need to enter that OTP, and then click “Submit OTP“.

• Last you get a new page with a success message of shifted Ration and Kerosene shop.
