- B.A./B. Com/ Post Graduate from recognized university with at least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post-Graduation and 1-year Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.) OR
- B.A./B. Com/ Post Graduate from recognized university with at least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post-Graduation and 2-years Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.) OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.) OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years B.A.Ed. OR

- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) with Sanskrit. OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B. A/B.Sc.Ed. with Sanskrit or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed with Sanskrit. OR
- Graduation with Sanskrit at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) OR
- Post-Graduation in Sanskrit with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed OR
- 4-year degree of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. with Sanskrit from any National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution.
Note: In case of TGT Art, Medical & Non-Medical and Shastries it is “provided that minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to the 29th July, 2011”.
5) Junior Basic Training (JBT):
- 10+2 with 50% or Senior Secondary with 50% marks from a recognized Board or Education and 2 years JBT/D.El.Ed from an institute affiliated to Himachal Pradesh board of School Education (HPBOSE). OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2- years JBT/D.El.Ed (by whatever name known). OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2- years JBT/D.El.Ed (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
- e Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-years Diploma in elementary Education (Special) OR
- Graduation and 2 years JBT/D.El.Ed (by whatever name known), OR

6) Language Teacher:
- B.A. with Hindi as an elective subject and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whichever name known) OR
- BA with at least 50% marks with Hindi as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) OR
- BA with at least 45% marks with Hindi as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms & Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
- BA with at least 50% marks with Hindi as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education OR
- Prabhakar (Honours in Hindi) with 50% marks followed by B.A. Examination (English and one additional subject) with 50% marks from recognized University and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) OR
