Tamil Nadu e Pass:- During Covid cases hike in the state in first and second wave, Tamil Nadu restricted unessential interstate, intrastate movements and also foreign travelers that are coming to Tamil Nadu.
Colleges, schools, banks, and malls were made closed by the government during the lockdown. However, the Tamil Nadu government had given some exemption to the persons connected to the health and essential service department and to government employees.
Recently India has crossed 2 billion doses mark of vaccination with the collaboration of central Govt and all the state governments result in now Things are getting back all over India along with Tamil Nadu state. Now no need of Covid e- pass for inter-state travel in Tamil Nadu so, the TN e pass portal is not operational currently.
Tamil Nadu Launched E-PASS For Movements
In a significant relief, the government launched the e-pass or the e-registration for people traveling between districts in the state, coming from other states and for foreign travelers coming to Tamil Nadu.
- The movement of private security service staff and housekeeping service staff in large housing complexes was permitted after e-registration.
- E-pass from District Collector was made mandatory for emergency travel to hill stations including Nilgiris, Kodaikanal, ercaud, Yelagiri.
- Unessential movement without e-pass was punishable.
How to Generate Tamil Nadu E-PASS Online
Tamil Nadu government had provided an online portal for government employees and the individual who is involved in the public or private sector of the health department, department of goods and services transport, and energy department.
- You can go to the official website or go directly via link provided below.
- Register yourself with required documents.
- After verification by concerned department You will get notification either by SMS or by e-mail with download link.
- Click on the download link and download your e-pass.
- Carry either a soft or hard copy of it while traveling.

- An interface will appear on the screen, choose “Traveling within India/Tamil Nadu” option.
- A new page will show on your screen.
- Enter your email id and captcha code.
- Enter the OTP into the OTP box
- Click on the login link.
- A registration form will show on your screen.
- Enter all the required information.
- Click on register.
- After Verification by concerned authority e-pass will be sent on your registered email ID.
- Or you will check your e-pass status on the official website or above given link.
Procedure to Register For Foreigner e-PASS
- go to the official website or above link
- An interface will appear on the screen, choose “Coming to Tamil Nadu from a foreign country”.
- A new page will show on your screen.
- Enter your email id and captcha code.
- Enter the OTP into the OTP box
- Click on the login link.
- A registration form will show on your screen.
- Enter all the required information.
- Click on register.
- After Verification by concerned authority e-pass will be sent on your registered email ID.
- Or you will check your e-pass status on the official website or above given link.
How to Register For Tamil Nadu Vehicle E-PASS
- Go to the official website or the link given above
- click on the essential service pass.
- Enter required personal details like name, mobile number, date of birth, e-mail address, application type.
- Enter your address.
- Now enter the authentic details of vehicle you will use during curfew like vehicle registration number, vehicle type (LMV or HMV), journey type (one way or round trip), reason of travelling, etc.
- You must also enter name, age, and contact number of the members travelling in the vehicle.
- Read the declaration and if agree tick the check box.
- Last press submits button.
- You will get notification of download vehicle e-pass after verification by concerned authority.
