UP Free Laptop Yojana: Due to the covid-19 pandemic, our education sector is also affected. Schools and colleges were closed during this period in India.
We had already adopted e-Learning, where classes will take place online. Teachers will share all the learning material via digital platforms. Students can join online courses from home. Due to financial issues, students who cannot join the e-Learning process without having a device (Smartphone or laptop), for such students UP Government will soon introduce a new scheme, UP Free Laptop Yojana.

UP Free Laptop Scheme Latest Update

As per the Tweet from UPGovt , ” ON 20 April,2022 CM Yogi will provide laptop to the eligible students who has lost parents during Covid time under the CM Baal Seva Scheme .”

Note: Currently in 2024 No such scheme available in present time. If state govt of UP start the free laptop scheme again then we will update information here.

The Central Government and the State Government are working together to improve the education system by introducing various schemes.
In the leadership of CM Yogi Aditya Nath, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has also started various schemes to enhance the learning and teaching process in schools in UP.

Mission Prerna is One of the flagship programs of the UP State Government. By this Government aims to improve students’ results in 1.6M schools associated with the department of primary education.

Under the Leadership of CM Yogi, the Government of UP will soon announce the UP free laptop scheme. 

Via this scheme, UP Government will provide free laptops or smartphones, or Tablets to the beneficiary students who have secured a minimum of 65% marks in class 10th and 12th. The Government has set a budget of 3,000 crores for the UP Free Laptop Scheme.

The Uttar Pradesh government has started no such scheme yet. Once the state government of UP launches the UP Free Laptop Yojana officially, we will provide all the updates here.

Via UP Free Smartphone/ Tablet / Laptop scheme, the Government of Uttar Pradesh will provide 10 million smartphones and tablets to the students. We will let you know if the Government starts any such project to give free smartphones, tablets, or laptops.

Purpose of UP Free Laptop Scheme

Schools, colleges, and other educational institutes were closed in the distress time of the covid-19 pandemic, which has impacted the offline learning process. Now digital learning or online classes are growing all over the world. So students who cannot buy laptops, smartphones, or tablets due to financial issues are having issues being a part of the digital learning process. However, the official notification is yet to come. Via UP Free Laptop Yojana, the Government of Uttar Pradesh aims to provide 10 million smartphones and tablets to such students.
The Free Laptop scheme will surely help all the beneficiaries to enhance their learning skills digitally, and this scheme will boost the e-learning process.

On August 19, 2021, the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Yogi Adityanath, said that “one crore smartphones or tablets will be provided to students pursuing as an undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma or other technical course.”
He also said, “For one Crore smartphones or tablet, government of UP has Rs 3000Cr as a budget”.

On Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday (December 25), 1 lakh beneficiaries will get free mobile and tablet from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Process to apply under UP Free Tablet Smartphone Scheme

Students who wants to apply for up free laptop Yojana, they can apply for this scheme through schools, Colleges or University. Also, you can take information about this scheme from your educational institute.

Eligibility Criteria for UP free Laptop Yojana

• The applicant should be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
• The applicant must be studying in Graduation, Post Graduation Technical or Diploma.
• Final year students will be preferred in the first phase of the UP Free Laptop Yojana.
• Age limit 18-25 years.
• The annual income of the beneficiary family should not exceed ₹ 2lakh/year.

How to Check UP Free Tablet Smartphone Scheme List

• First, you have to visit the official website.
• After that, you need to find the “UP Free Tablet / Smartphone Scheme” option.
• Next, Click on “UP Free Tablet/ Smartphone” option. By doing so, you will be redirected to a UP free laptop Yojana page.
• After that, you have to select your Block and District from the dropdown list.
• Next, to view the district-wise beneficiary list, you need to click on the “submit” button.
• District-wise beneficiary list of UP Free Tablet / Smart Phone Scheme will appear on the screen.
